Native to Western Pennsylvania, Tony reached out to be a part of Team Run Eugene in the summer of 2017. He is a middle-distance specialist who had formerly been training in the high desert of New Mexico for the last four years.
Upon graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2010, he started working with the Washington County Recreation Department in Maryland, directing a variety of intramural sports and youth development programs.
After rehabilitating a nagging plantar injury and driven by a conviction that he had not peaked in his ability on the track, he relaunched his efforts to train and race at the highest level on the USATF circuit in 2013, making steady progress along the way. He made his first USA Indoor Track & Field final in 2017 in the 1000m, and decided to move closer to the action.
Tony is energized to be a part of the Eugene running culture and finds pure joy in embracing others’ goals for high achievement. He looks forward to exchanging passions and goals with the community and running faster than he ever has before.
