With the US Trials going on, much of July’s focus was the track action at Hayward Field. However, outside of the big track bubble, we had several great performances right here on the roads in Eugene/Springfield, starting with the Butte-to-Butte 5k and 10k in Eugene on July 4th, followed by the Nick Symmonds Straight 800 in Springfield on July 5th! We hope you got to see (or compete in!) at least one of these races, but if not, you can catch up on all results and highlights below:
It’s been a busy and exciting month with the Trials taking over at Hayward Field. Hopefully you were able to catch some of the action either at the track, at the fan festival, or through the live stream, because there were so many incredible and inspiring performances over the course of the 10-day meet! TRE had 5 athletes represent us on the track this week: Geena Gall in the 800m, Bridget Franek and Megan Patrignelli in the women’s steeplechase, Isaac Updike in the men’s steeplechase, and Eric Avila in the 1500m. And of course, since we are lucky enough to live in Eugene, we had a whole team of TRE athletes representing us off in the stadium and at the Fan Festival as well! Trials race recap below:
After the monsoon on Thursday at the Stumptown Twilight, we were left wishing we had just one more shot to get some athletes qualified for next week’s U.S. Olympic Trials. When you want something, you go out and do it! Coach Ian Dobson worked tirelessly for the 48 hours following Stumptown Twilight to put together the “Team Run Eugene Last Chance Last Chance” meet. With the help of Oregon State University’s athletic department, willing officials, and motivated racers and pacers, the meet was created. It was held at OSU’s Whyte Field in Corvallis, OR, last night just hours before the qualifying deadline. With just three events being contested (the men’s 800m, men’s 1500m, and men’s 3000mSC), it was short and sweet. Full recap of the excitement below:
It was another great weekend of racing for TRE! We had a group travel up to Vancouver BC for the Harry Jerome Track Classic, followed by the Victoria Track Classic, and a smaller group head to Seattle for the Brooks PR Invite. There were 8 season-best performances, including 3 lifetime bests, highlighted by Hans Roelle running back-to-back-to-back strong 800m races. More on that below, in addition to a full recap of all races!
While there hasn’t been a ton of racing for us these past two weeks (a big portion of the team is preparing for the Portland Track Festival next weekend), those who did compete definitely brought plenty of action to the track and roads. We’ve covered the main highlights below!
We are getting closer to the Trials, and a lot of racing happened these past two weeks for TRE! In case you missed some of the action, we’ve recapped the highlights of our most recent meets below: the West Coast Invitational last Thursday, the Cayman Invitational last Saturday, the Portland Twilight last Sunday, and last night’s HOKA One One Middle Distance Classic. Links to full results of each meet are posted below.
It was another big two weeks for us, as we had athletes competing on the track and on the roads. Between the OSU High Performance meet, USATF Half Marathon Championships, Eugene Marathon 5k, Payton Jordan Invite, and Oregon Twilight, we had a lot of great performances. Catch up with some highlights and results below!
We couldn’t wait until the end of the month for our race recap, because too many exciting things happened this past weekend and earlier this month! Most of the team debuted at either Oregon Relays or Mt. SAC Relays, and there were a lot of great performances around the board. Earlier this month, we also had Dan Kremske compete on the roads at the Carlsbad 5k. With the group that was training in Flagstaff finally back in Eugene, we had a large team presence this weekend at Hayward Field. It’s safe to say: spring has arrived, and we are ready. Recaps below!
While we had the USATF Indoor Champs in March, we also had several athletes open up their outdoor seasons on the track! The first outdoor meet of the year always has that extra feeling of excitement, because it means spring season has officially started. In addition to the track, we also saw a stellar race from Eric Finan at the Gate River Run 15k in Jacksonville, Florida, marking a great return to the roads for him, as well as a gutsy race from Soh Rui Yong at the World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff. We’ll recap all of that below!
