Brian rediscovered his love for running shortly after his best friend convinced him to try cross country his sophomore year of high school. Though he started as one of the slowest on the team, his focus on tackling all of the lifestyle components that go along with running allowed him to make huge improvements. By his senior year, he helped lead South Eugene to their first team state cross country title in thirty years, and the first co-ed title in school history.
He traveled east for college and spent his undergraduate career at Cornell, where he found himself primarily competing in the 5k and 10k. His favorite has always been the mud and hills of cross country, and he finished his senior cross season with a trip to Nationals. He graduated in 2016 with a degree in biology, and moved back to Eugene hoping to continue running competitively.
Brian joined TRE in the fall of 2016, and he is very excited to be part of the team! He looks forward to improving his track times and engaging the community through running.
