Brett Ely


Brett competed at the marathon distance for Team Run Eugene from 2013-2016, capping off a long and successful career at the 2016 Olympic Trials marathon. Her running highlights include four individual marathon wins, qualifying for the Olympic Trials Marathon four consecutive times (2004-2016), and representing the Unites States in the 2011 Pan American Games marathon.
Brett earned her B.S. in dietetics and M.S. in Nutrition & Exercise Physiology while competing at James Madison University, and is currently working toward finishing her PhD in Human Physiology at the University of Oregon. She has authored more than 30 scientific publications, including a book chapter in the IOC Encyclopedia of Sports Nutrition. Her work with the team includes consulting on nutrition, physiology, and preparing for competition in hot weather.
