Team Run Eugene, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed in 2011 and is based in Eugene, Oregon. TRE was conceived with the goal of providing a training ground for aspiring professional middle and long distance runners. TRE also seeks to be a force in the local Eugene/Springfield community, promoting the values of running.
MISSION
Team Run Eugene is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing the support necessary for aspiring professional runners who otherwise would not have the opportunity to continue their training post-collegiately. TRE enhances the running and broader communities through fostering and supporting talent, and through the promotion of running as part of a healthy and active lifestyle.
VISION
Team Run Eugene strives to develop the next generation of elite performers competing on the national and international stages. TRE seeks to provide the resources necessary, including basic necessities and healthcare, to ensure its runners the opportunity to train at the highest levels. TRE is committed to giving back to the community through establishing a local running events, camps, and educational clinics for youth and adults alike.
OBJECTIVES
- To identify post-collegiate runners with the potential to develop into the next generation of elite performers whom would benefit from the the resources provided by the group with an aim to compete at a national level.
- Provide the resources necessary to allow runners to train at an optimal level. The aim is to provides assistance through coaching, facilities and equipment for training, access to specialized medical care and physical therapy services, and assistance through stipends and finding part-time jobs.
- Continue to promote the sport of running and the importance of an active lifestyle in the community among youth and adults through involvement in, and establishing local running events, camps and educational clinics.
